  1. Prepare 2 cup whole wheat flour
  2. Make ready 1 tbsp ghee
  3. Get 1 cup roasted gram flour or sattu
  4. Prepare 1 onion finely chopped

  6. Get 2 Green chillies
  7. Get 2 tsp Ginger and Garlic paste
  8. Take 4 boiled potatoes
  9. Take 5 tomatoes (charred)

  13. Prepare 1 tsp Garam masala

Litti Chokha is a delicacy from the state of Bihar made with stuffed whole wheat dough balls with roasted chana dal and spices inside. These stuffed balls are known as Litties are usually roasted over.

Steps to make Litti Chokha:
  1. First, prepare the dough for litti, for it take wheat flour and add some ghee to it and knead a soft dough and let it rest for half an hour.
  2. Meanwhile prepare the sattu filling, with roasted gram flour, finely chopped onions, garlic cloves, ginger & green chillies. Add salt and onion seeds to it. Mix well & then add mustard oil (heated) & agian mix well with a spoon.
  3. Now out of that dough make round balls and stuff these littis with this sattu filling like a kachori. Cook these littis in a gas tandoor or you can also cook these directly on flame.
  4. Now for chokha, take boiled potatoes & mash them. Add finely chopped onion, green chillies, garlic, ginger & 2 tomatoes that are charred on high flame. Season it with the spices and salt.
  5. Now for garlic chutney: take 3 charred tomatoes, 6-7 garlic cloves, dried red chillies (which are soaked in water for 10mins) and salt to taste. Blend them in a mixer jar to make a fine paste. Adjust the salt as per taste.
  6. Now before serving, take the cooked litties and dip them into ghee and serve along with chokha and garlic chutney. Enjoy
