- Get For Adai Dosa batter:-
- Prepare 2 cup Rice
- Get 1/4 cup Chana dal
- Get 1/4 cup Arhar dal
- Take 1/4 cup whole Moong dal
- Get 1/4 cup Urad dal
- Prepare 1 inch Ginger
- Take 1-2 green chillies
- Take 1/4 Tsp Hing
- Take 2 Chopped onion 1 medium size
- Take 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped
- Prepare Salt as per taste
- Make ready Water as required for preparing batter
- Take as needed Oil/ghee as required for preparing dosa
Cheese Adai Dosa is an intense dish made with a medley of lentils & rice, spiced with chilies Adai batter is blended fine the consistency of dosa batter. Heat griddle and pour the batter on it and add oil. Adai Dosa is a delicious protein rich pancake from the South Indian cuisine. The adai recipe shared here is a basic recipe which is usually prepared.
Steps to make Adai Dosa:
- Add all the pulses(1/4 cup whole moond dal,1/4 cup arhar,1/4 cup chana dal,1/4 cup urad dal) in a big bowl and wash for 3-4 times under tap water.
- Add enough water in a bowl and soak pulses for 3-4 hrs or overnight.
- Take another big bowl add 2 cups of rice and wash under tap water for 3-4 times.
- Soak washed rice in enough water for 3-4hrs or you can leave overnight.(I prefer to keep pulses and rice soaked overnight)
- Next day drain the water from pulses and rice and keep both in separate bowl
- In a mixer jar add green chilies and rice.Add 2-3Tbsp of water and blend into slightly coarse thick batter.
- Transfer the prepared rice batter in a big bowl.
- Next add drained pulses and peeled ginger in a same mixer jar.
- Blend the pulses to slightly coarse batter if required add 2-3 tbsp of water while grinding.
- Transfer pulses batter to rice batter bowl and mix both the batter well.
- Dosa batter is ready to use.(If you want you can rest better for 2-3 hrs.)
- Heat a non-stick tawa over medium heat and apply 1Tsp of oil.
- Add 1 medium size chopped onion,salt to taste,1/4tsp hing,1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves to dosa batter and mix everything well.
- Dosa batter is thick,but of spreading consistency.
- Make sure your tawa is hot, before you pour batter.
- Lower the heat,pour a laddle of batter and spread it quickly like dosa.Spread thick or thin as you prefer to eat.
- After spreading batter,increase the heat to medium.
- Add 1/2 tsp of oil /ghee around the edges of dosa and cook on medium heat.
- When dosa cooks on one side,the edges loosen from the tawa slightly.
- Flip and cook on other side,cook from both sides until it turns crispy.
- Serve adai dosa hot with tomato or coconut chutney or with the choice of your chutney.
Each household has their own proportions and the. I can have adai(adai dosa) even daily…. This version amma makes - the dosa style is my Most restaurants serve adai with aviyal but I havent tasted that combination. Adai dosa- A savory pancake made with rice and mixed lentil. Adai can be thick like uttapam or like a medium thick dosa, again the thickness depends on your preference.
