Cover and cook till the banana stem is cooked well but not mushy. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent the vegetable from sticking or burning. The banana stem is not a true stem. It is actually a pseudostem made out of leaf sheaths. Add sambar powder and continue to simmer for.
