- These are the spices I used .
- Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes after rinsing it .
- Heat oil in a pan and add the spices except saffron . After the aroma of the spices come out, add sliced onions and fry until golden brown.
- Now add the ginger garlic chilly paste and fry for 20 seconds till the raw smell goes off .
- Add tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes . Add the rest of the vegetables now and coat them with the oil . Stir for 1 min . Add the powder ingredients one by one and finally add salt.
- Now add the soaked rice and coat it wil the oil . Pour water in the ratio of 1:2 as rice:water . Let the mixture boil .
- Add the lemon juice and the pinch of saffron . Stir for 2 minutes .
- Close the pressure cooker and leave 2 whistles in medium flame .
- Open the container after it has nicely cooked . Garnish with corriander leaves and Serve hot with accompaniments like curd or yoghurt .
