A creamy gravy which i was hesitant to try for a long time (since i am very calorie conscious now a days), of course most of us are. Methi and mutter i.e. fenugreek and peas, makes for a luscious combination. The way their flavours blend with each other in a creamy base is simply awesome. Besides, the fragrant dry masala paste.
Steps to make Methi malai mutter:
- Boil peas. Chop wash and rinse Fresh fenugreek. And saute in oil for 2-3min. And take out in a plate.
- Now add oil in a pan add onion slices Salt and saute till it transparent add cashewnuts nginger garlic paste saute tomato chopped till it soft. Let it cool and make smooth paste.
- Now again heat oil and add cumin seeds cardamom bay leaf cine mon stick cloves and chopped chilli saute properly. And add onion tomato gravy red chilli powder corriender cumin powder and turmeric powder mix well Add boiled fresh peas fenugreek and tomato pcs.(obt)mix well add 1/2cup water cover the lid for 2-3min and cook on a slow flame.
- Beat cream and add in a mixture. Add garam masala mix well and cook for 5min. And serve
- Tasty delocious methi malai mutter is ready to serve. Garnish with tomato flower and cucumber.
Now add in kasuri methi leaves and cream and simmer for a min or so. I added some leftover lentils, and also used frozen methi which I sauteed in butter. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot methi matar malai with naan, roti or rice.
