- Take 150 grams double beans soaked

- Take 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Prepare 1 tomato (chopped)
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon oil
- Make ready 5-6 Curry leaves
- Take 1 teaspoon coriander leaves (chopped)
- Get 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Take to taste Salt

- Take a pan, add chopped onion, garlic cloves, Byadgi chillies, black pepper, chopped coconut, jeera, mustard, Methi, chana dal, urad dal, ginger, poppy seeds and roast till raw smell goes off. Now switch off the gas stove and add coriander powder in the same pan and mix well. Don't roast coriander powder when gas stove is on. It may turn black easily. Grind all these ingredients. Masala should be Finely grind.
- In a pressure cooker, add soaked double beans and tomato. Allow it to whistle for 4 to 5. Double beans should be soaked at least for 8 years. You can also add potato or other vegetables as per your choice.
- Now take a vessel and add boiled double beans and grinded masala and mix well. Add salt and turmeric powder. Bring it to boil so that beans mix well with masala. Take a tempering pan, add oil and mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds splutter add 1/2 teaspoon of chopped onion. Once it turns to golden brown give this tempering to sambar. Add Curry leaves and coriander leaves for garnish. Now sambar is ready
