- Wash, clean and dry colocassia leaves
- Remove big stems and unwanted branches from the leaves
- In a vessel, mix gram flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, tamarind paste, jaggery, ginger paste, green chillies, salt and water to form a thick batter
- Apply the batter on the down (less greener) side of the leaves and roll the up while applying the batter on the rolled leaves too
- Grease the steamer plate and steam the rolled leaves for 20 mins
- Let the leaves cool down and then cut them into round pieces
- In a frying pan, take some oil. Add asafoetida, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, whole green chillies and fry the cut pieces
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and coconut shreddings
