Ras Kadam is one of the most popular of recent trending meals on earth. It’s simple, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Ras Kadam is something that I have loved my whole life. They are nice and they look fantastic.

The ingredients needed to make Ras Kadam:
  1. Make ready 200 gm Mawa
  2. Make ready 1.5ltrs Milk
  3. Prepare 7 Tbsp Sugar
  4. Get 5 cups water
  5. Make ready 2-3 tsp powdered sugar
  6. Get 2 tsp Poppy seeds (Khus Khus)
  7. Prepare 1 tbsp sugar for caramel

The Kadam (bka' dam) tradition was the first of the so-called New Schools of Tibetan Buddhism, traditions that arose during the Second Propagation of Buddhism in Tibet in the tenth century. The Kadam (Wylie: Bka'-gdams-pa) tradition was a Tibetan Mahayana Buddhist school. Khir kadam and ras kadam are also another fast selling items. Chum chum are so soft that they melt in your mouth leaving it's fantastic taste behind.

Instructions to make Ras Kadam:
  1. Let us prepare caramel rasgulla first. so boil the milk in a deep vessel.
  2. In the mean time, take another wok or utensil and add to it 7 tbsp sugar and 4 cups water to make sugar syrup. keep stiring until sugar dissolves and Let it boil.
  3. Now when the milk comes to a boil, switch off the flame and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Keep it aside
  4. Take a small kadhai to make caramel. keep on the gas at medium flame and add 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp water. keep constantly stirring to make caramel.
  5. Once the caramel is done, it's time to add it to the sugar syrup. Be very very careful because caramel and sugar syrup both are very hot. so what you need to do is, take a tsp and slowly slowly add it to the sugar syrup keeping your spoon close or dipped gently in the syrup.. like pic shown below…otherwise it will splash and you may ger injured. give one boil and switch off the flame
  6. We go to our milk to prepare chenna.. take a lemon juice and add 1 tsp of it to the milk. keep stirring. Now again add 1 tsp of lemon juice and stir constantly until the milk curdles. Stop adding lemon juice when you see the milk curdling.
  7. Strain out the chenna using a cloth and strainer. wash chenna with normal water to wash out lemon juice from it. Now squeeze the cloth to drain excess water and hang it somewhere for 30 min to drain further.
  8. Now take out chenna from the cloth and mash or knead using palm to a nice and soft dough. See we are making rasgulla for stuffing purpose, so you need not to work hard for making crack free balls. It doesnt matter if it has cracks.
  9. Now make small balls from the chenna dough. Go to the sugar syrup and switch the flame on and bring it to a boil again and then add to it the prepared chenna balls. Ensure that the sugar syrup is boiling at the time you add chenna. Cover the utensil and cook for 15 min.
  10. After 15 minutes add hot water to the syrup, give a stir and close the lid. Repeat this process for 3 more times and your caramel rasgulla is ready.. Let it cool in the syrup itself and take out on a plate.
  11. Take mawa. I took homemade mawa. Now knead it to a smooth dough. Add 2 tsp powdered sugar to it and knead it again. If you are buying mawa from shop, then it may have added sugar, so you dont have to add powdered sugar. Just check as per the taste you need and adjust sugar accordingly
  12. Take a ball and press it to flatten and keep a rasgulla at the centre and wrap mawa around and seal the end and then roll into a nice ball. Do the same for rest and dish out to a plate.
  13. Now take a pan and dry roast poppy seeds and keep aside in a bowl.
  14. Gently roll or run the raskadam balls into the roasted poppy seeds and it is done. Keep the balls in fridge for 30 mins to settle and your delicous ras kadam is done.
