The ingredients needed to make Bread Pakoda (Non Fried):
  1. Get 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  2. Make ready 1 tsp cumin powder
  3. Get as per taste Salt
  4. Get 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  5. Take 1 tsp ginger paste
  6. Make ready 3 tbsp chopped coriander
  7. Take 1 tsp chopped green chilies
  8. Get 1/2 tsp Black Salt
  9. Take 1.5 cup Besan
  10. Take 1 tsp Carom seeds
  11. Take As per taste Salt
  12. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  13. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Take some bread slices

A simple bread pakoda would have halved bread slices dipped and coated in gram flour batter and deep fried. Place the fried bread pakora on kitchen absorbent tissues so that excess oil is absorbed. Instructions to make Bread Pakoda (Non Fried):
  1. First lets make batter. In a mixing bowl, take Chickpeas Flour. Add salt, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and chopped coriander.  Mix everything. Now we have to add water. Be very attentive while adding water in Besan to make batter. For this non fried Bread Pakoda, we will add water with the same quantity of Besan we have used. 1.5 cup Chickpeas Flour mean 1.5 cup Water. Such measurement will give perfect consistency of batter.
  2. After adding water, mix it nicely and allow it to rest for 10-15 min. Mix again and make sure there is no lump.
  3. Now lets make filling. - - If your boiled potatoes are ready in freeze, this step will take just 3-4 minutes,. And if not then boil the potatoes.Boil potato for 3-4 whistles on medium flame, allow it to cool. Peel and mash nicely.
  4. Now in a mixing bowl take mashed potatoes. Add salt, black salt, cumin powder, grated ginger, red chilli powder. I have not used chopped green chillies as I was serving to my little one,but if you prefer please add some nicely chopped green chillies too. - - Mix everything very nicely. Our stuffing is ready.
  5. Now it's time to assemble.. - - Take bread slices. With the help of spoon, spread the stuffing on bread. Be careful otherwise bread will crumble easily. For easiest way, put stuffing on center and spread outer side with back side of spoon.  Now cover this slice with a plain bread slice. If you wish you can apply coriander chutney on this plain bread slice.
  6. Heat  a non stick griddle / Tava. Sprinkle few drops of Oil on it. Now, the sandwich, which we made with stuffing, dip in chickpeas batter nicely. make sure it cover all sides. Handle with soft hands.
  7. Try to coat gently all 6 sides of sandwich. Place it gently on non stick tava. Add few more drops of Oil if needed. Once you see sides getting crispy, flip it carefully. Allow it to roast nicely. Make sure, one has to roast 4 sides also. Else the raw batter taste will spoil the whole mood.
  8. Once all sides get crispy or nicely cook, take it on plate. Cut in halves and serve immediately with variety of chutneys. One can serve with Tea or just tomato sauce.
