The ingredients needed to make Shahi Paneer:
  1. Get 1 cup Paneer (cut in blocks)
  2. Make ready 4 tomatoes medium size (roughly chopped)
  3. Make ready 2 onions medium size (roughly chopped)
  4. Take 1 Bay leaf (tej patta)
  5. Take 3 cloves
  6. Make ready 1 tsp Ginger (roughly chopped)
  7. Get 3 cardamom (elaichi)
  8. Make ready 1 Black cardamom (badi elaaichi)
  9. Prepare 10 cashewnuts (optional)
  10. Take 1 inch cinnamon stick (daal cheeni)
  11. Get 2 tbsp Kashmiri/Degi red chilli powder
  12. Prepare 3 tbsp cream/malai
  13. Get 2 green chillies (slit)
  14. Take 4-5 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  15. Get 1 tbsp Fenugreek (kasuri methi)
  16. Get to taste Salt

My Shahi Paneer was off the hook! Ain't nobody messing with my Shahi Paneer. You have to love culture big thanks to them Indian ladies in the video. The original shahi paneer is from Mughalai cuisine.

Steps to make Shahi Paneer:
  1. In a pan or kadhaai, add half a glass of water and into it add tomatoes, onions, bay leaf, clove, cardamom, black cardamom, cashew nuts, cinnamon stick, 2tbsp butter and 1tbsp kashmiri/degi red chilli.
  2. Once they are boiled, set them aside to cool them up a little. Once cooled, add them into a mixture jar and make a puree.
  3. Now you need to filter this puree. (puree ko kisi badi chhanni se chhann lein) and throw off the remains. Keep the puree aside.
  4. Now, in a pan or kadaai, add another 2tbsp of butter. Then add green chilli and garlic. Fry them a little and then add paneer to this.
  5. Fry the paneer a little bit and then add puree to it.
  6. Now into the puree, add salt and another 1tbsp of kashmiri/degi lal mirch. Cook it for 5-7 mins.
  7. Then add another 2tbsp cream to it, give it a stir and cook until it's ready.
  8. Once it's all done, turn off the flame. Add another 1tbsp of cream, mix it and top it with kasuri methi. - It's done :)
