Shakarpara and Namakpara are a famous savoury snack which you can either prepare by deep-frying or baking. These sweet biscuits are popularly known as shankarpali in Maharashtra, shakarpara in Gujarat, kalakala in Tamil Nadu, sweet tukdi in North India and teepi maida biscuits in Andhra Pradesh. - First take the flour add ghee to it. Mix it well. Now divide it into 3 parts
- Now for the masala Namakpara. Take one third of the flour, add all the masala and make a tight dough using warm water. Keep it aside for 30 min.
- Now take the remaining flour add the powder sugar and a pinch of salt. Again divide it into 2 parts. Add coco powder to one part and custard powder to the other and using warm water make 2 separate dough and keep it for 30 min.
- Now roll it into a bit thick round or square shape. Cut it into small squares from them
- Heat oil/ghee in a pan and then fry them first in high flame and then in low. So that it is cooked till inside.
Take note, while dropping the shakkarpara in oil, oil should be hot. A teatime snack made out of refined flour and whole wheat flour. However, care has to be taken when making the sugar syrup.
