  4. Now add pork on top of the onion. On the pork add half teaspoon salt, pepper to taste, and a third of the allspice. add rest of onions on top.
  5. Last layer add add beef, season with 1/3 of the allspice half teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Pour your lamb broth just covering the top.
  7. Braise in the oven 2-1/2 to 3 hours.

Remove the cover and paper, stir and serve over hot, cooked buttered or mashed potatoes. Karelian Hot Pot is a traditional meat stew originating from the region of Karelia.
