- Take 1/2 cup flatten rice
- Get 1/4 tsp ghee
- Get Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Ingredients: Rui/Katla machh (Rohu or any carp). Koi Mach'er Jhol: This curry, perfect for the winter months, contains two of the Bengali's favourite things-gingery-jhol-soaked koi. - Wash & clean the Katla fish pieces properly & then marinate them with turmeric powder & salt.
- Heat mustard oil in a kadai & lightly fry the marinated fish pieces, keep aside.
- Fry the cauliflower florets & potatoes in the remaining oil & keep aside.
- Now temper the oil with nigella seeds, green chillies(splitted), green cardamom, bay leaf.
- Add the sliced onions & cook until the onion turned into a translucent texture.
- Now add chopped tomato, Kashmiri red chilli powder, cumin powder, ginger paste, sugar, salt,turmeric powder & cook till the mixture release oil.
- Add little water in between.Add fried cauliflower florets,potatoes & green peas & mix it well.
- Add 4 cups warm water & give it a boil.Add the fried fishes & cook on low flame till the potatoes & cauliflower florets are softened.
- In between dip fry the flattened rice.
- Add the fried flattened rice with the fish curry & cook for another 1,2 mints.
- Add ghee & switch off the flame.
- Garnish the dish with chopped coriander leaves & transfer it to a serving plate.Serve it with hot steamed rice.
