Hello all sharing with you today my Monsoon Special Gluten Free recipe. Makai no Danoo recipe - This is Gujarati snack made from desi corn (makai) or sweet. Here is simple recipe of corn (makai) chevdo or khichdi.
Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. They are fine and they look fantastic. Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano is something which I have loved my entire life.
To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook corn khichdi or makai no dano using 17 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you cook that.
The ingredients needed to make Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano:
- Take 1 kg fresh corn seeds.(1kg desi corn and 1/2 kg American corn)
- Get 1 liter Milk
- Get 1/2 liter warm water
- Prepare 8-10 long
- Take 1 inch cinnamon
- Make ready 1 tbsp black pepper powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp red chili powder
- Take 1&1/2 tsp salt
- Prepare 2 tbsp oil
- Get 1 tbsp ghee
- Prepare 1 red chilli (whole)
- Make ready 1 tsp hing
- Get 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Prepare 2 tbsp paste of ginger,garlic and chilli (6 chilli)
- Make ready 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp jeera
- Make ready 1 tbsp each kaju pieces and kismis
Don't let the name "Chevda" fool you. This is no dry namkeen tea time snack made from corn hey I call this recipe as "makai ni Khichdi" instead of "Makai no Chevdo"!!! Whatever the name it tastes yummm!!! If you are bored with usual khichdi recipe, chef Ruchi Bharani brings simple and easy to make quick homemade rice recipe with a twist.
Instructions to make Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano:
- First of all, take out corn seeds from the corn and crush it in mixer jar adding very little water. You can also use chili clutter for it.
- Take out in a bowl and ready all other ingredients.
- Put kadai on the flame and take 2 tbsp oil and 1 tsp ghee in it add jeera 1 red chilli and hing then add chilli ginger garlic paste and saute it for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add crushed corn to it and stir it to mix it well.
- Add 1/2 liter water to it and stir it for 5 to 10 minutes add salt and turmeric powder in it. Stir it and mix it well.
- Then add 1 liter milk gradually as it requires and stir it well. Cook it for 30 minutes at least till it boils and cook.
- After 30 or 35 minutes it get cooked.During this stir it constantly until all the milk absorbed.
- Then add red chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and stir it. Also add kaju and kismis in it and stir it for 5 minutes.
- Take out in a serving bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander and kaju pieces as shown in the picture.
- You can have it with paratha. This khichdi is very healthy and high fiber,full of protein and carbohydrates.
Sabudana Khichdi is a dish commonly made in India during the fasting season of Navratri. Sago/tapiocal pearls are tossed together with spices You may add ginger to it the khichdi or even coconut would be great. If making it for fasting, follow the recipe as it is except add sendha namak.
