The ingredients needed to make Dal-Bati in Oven:
- Take 3 cup wheat flour
- Make ready 1/2 cup rawa/suji
- Prepare 1 tsp jeera
- Get 1 tsp salt
- Prepare 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Take 1 tbsp oil
- Prepare as needed Water for making dough
- Prepare 2-3 tbsp melted ghee
Dal bati is a popular Rajasthani delicacy. Dal is simply soup of mixed lentils, cooked with spices. Bati is a baked, whole wheat bread rolls and the combination is known as dal bati. Traditionally bati is cooked over charcoal, but oven also works great.
Instructions to make Dal-Bati in Oven:
- Mix all dry ingredients in a vessel.
- Now add little little water to knead the dough (dough should be tighter than chapati dough).
- Now keep it aside for 10 minute, to get set.
- Till that time, set the oven for preheating, we will preheat the oven on 400°F on convection mode.
- After 10 minutes, apply little oil on dough and knead it again and then make equal size balls out of the dough.
- Grease the baking tray and set the batis on tray..
- Once oven is preheated, keep the baking tray in oven and bake the batis for 20 minutes on 400°F (time may vary based on the oven)
- In every 5 minutes, we will check and flip the batis..
- After 20 minutes, take out the baking tray (keep for some more time if you think batis are not completely cooked)
- Now apply ghee on batis..
- Bati is ready to serve.. - Serve hot with dal fry and garlic chutney..
